Dealing with back pain

Hey guys!

I've yet to visit a chiropractic clinic myself because I, along with many others, are unsure of the benefits that a chiropractor can offer. I find myself asking questions like whether or not chiropractic is actually scientifically based. I'm a firm believer, however, in massage therapy and physiotherapy, which I believe are closer to chiropractic than any other practice.

When I hurt my back I usually visit an Edmonton massage therapist and get the usual treatment, which leaves me feeling better. But I find myself becoming more and more curious about seeing a chiropractor and having them do some work on me.

As a nursing student, I know that my body is constantly working to heal itself, and that given the best environment and healthy conditions, it will do that job well. So having that knowledge, the idea of a chiropractor adjusting joints and relieving pressure on my spine seems quite inciting. I know that I have bad posture from having to constantly be sitting at both work and school for long periods of time, consequently I ball up all of this tension and gas into pockets that need to be released and cracked. I have a bad habit of cracking my fingers, so I know first hand the relief of having joints cracked and released. Having a professional do it on my spine is an attractive thought, and welcomed after this entire week of back pain.

After a read through RedefinedHealth.com, I was left with a better understanding of chiropractic practice, and was less hesitant to set up a meeting with their office in order to explore it. They explained what makes chiropractics effective, and dispelled a few myths about it that I was skeptic of, such as whether or not I had thrown my back "out" at such a young age.
Needless to say, I am excited for my first visit to the chiropractor, and I look forward to the relief on my back.

Divorce is costly for everyone involved

Hey everyone!
About a month ago I was talking with my aunt about her life because I knew that she was going through some troubling times. She lives in Calgary, so I don't get to see her all that often.

She shared with me that she was separated from her husband of ten years, Joe. I wasn't too close with Joe at all, but I felt so horrible for my aunt. She told me that she was working with a Calgary divorce lawyer, and that they were going through the necessary steps to ensure that she gets everything sorted out. Apparently Joe was more in favor of a lawyer assisted negotiation for the upcoming divorce. I didn't know a whole lot about that, but my aunt told me that she would not only would she have to deal with the heartbreak of divorce, Joe was now making her show up to court for a lengthy back and forth negotiation where she would need to work with her lawyer and present her stance, then argue for it in an attempt to reach some sort of middle ground.

The entire time she explained all of this, all I could think about was my nephew and niece, who I know really love both of their parents. I imagine that it will be difficult for my aunt to be cooperative with Joe after this entire ordeal is said and done, and that will be at the detriment of the children. Co-parenting is an option that my aunt is working through with her lawyer. I searched around and learned a bit more about all of the troubles and tribulations that come along with divorce, but was glad to know that law offices in Calgary, such as McNeillFamilyLaw.ca, work with families and spouses carefully and respectfully in order to minimize the emotional and financial cost of divorce on the whole family.

Should I get a nose job or just get fillers?

After a long conversation with my roommate and best friend MJ, I am actually considering getting work done to my nose. To me, the nose is one of the most - if not the most - defining feature on someone's face next to their eyes. It's the center of the entire face and probably the first thing people notice when they look at us. I've never had a problem with my own nose until I reached high school, then I started to get a little self-conscious about the way that it was growing.

The top of the bridge is a bit bumpy, which I'm sure people notice when they see me, even if nobody says it outright.
One thing I immediately thought about when I was considering getting my nose "fixed," is that I don't want invasive and dangerous surgery done to it.

I did some searching, and found out that I can get dermal fillers in Edmonton for my nose rather than having to go under general anesthesia with the possibility for complications. I had never heard of non-surgical rhinoplasty before, but it seems exactly like something that I would be interested in because it provides me with the desired effect without having to commit to more permanent changes.
According to the website they inject fillers into the nose (in my case it would be the bridge of my nose) in order to smooth out any bumps that occur, offering a natural straight bridge without swelling or scars. Also, it only takes 20 minutes and reduces a lot of side effects and eliminates the few weeks of recovery that traditional nose jobs create.

I'm so, so glad to know that Dr. Anil Sharma of TheSharmaClinic.com offers free consultations. I'm excited to get more information and get his personal opinion of my nose and what non-surgical rhinoplasty can do for my appearance, and ultimately my self-esteem.

Beating the Heat with HVAC technology

Hi guys!
Lately the weather has been getting a lot warmer; which is always a bit of a weird feeling to me, and to a lot of Canadians I imagine, because of how used to the blistering cold we are. It is definitely starting to feel like summer.

As the temperature rises, the need for lots of business and families are turning to HVAC technicians for help with installation and maintenance of their air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating technology.  Places like Arctic Air, which is a Calgary HVAC and Refrigeration company, focus on installing, maintaining and servicing different type of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) equipment.

As the summer blazes on, it's important to make sure that you are getting your cooling systems installed correctly and professionally, whether it's an air conditioner, a walk-in cooler, an exhaust fan, or an ice machine. The same token applies to servicing and upkeep of your HVAC units. According to their website, all air conditioning systems need regular maintaining in order to run efficiently.

You can visit ArcticAir.com for more information and view their maintenance plans.

Physiotherapy in Calgary

Hey everyone!
My mom is a very sick woman, and recently has had to access the services of a physiotherapist. She is an amputee as well as a diabetic, so getting her mobile again is a very complex and long term journey.

After finally visiting a Calgary physiotherapist, I realized just how hard it is to find one. I wasn't sure exactly what my mom needed, what her problems were, and what treatment I was even looking for. I knew that it was important that I find a clinic with a range of specializations so that the chances of getting my mom the right treatment plan would be better.

This clinic had two locations, which gave us the option to drive less, since it's already a bit of a challenge getting around. The staff helped with setting up direct billing, which is something that I didn't even think of right away. When we arrived they were very friendly to my mom, which I say is a very good thing considering the years of medical problems she has gone through have made her a bit of a handful at times to deal with.
They let me know that she was in good hands, and that the physiotherapists there had over 10 years of experience; this gave me confidence knowing that they would most likely have seen a case like my mom's before.
Because my mom had pre-existing conditions, her treatment plan was personalized and they took into consideration the amount of exertion she could handle at each session - and kept this in mind for her future scheduled visits. I am glad that clinics such as AlbertaPT.com are around so that my mom can find the help she needs and get walking again.

Calgary Dental Office visit

Hey everyone!
A few weeks ago I had a bad run in with a rock and ended up slipping and chipping my tooth on the sidewalk; it was incredibly painful and most of all extremely embarrassing. I was a bit confused about what my options were after that, and that's why I want to let you know what I learned from reading around a bit about the subject and my own personal experience.

A lot of dental offices cover a wide range of services such as teeth cleaning, braces, dentures, cosmetic surgery, and fillings. After meeting with a Calgary dentist, I was happy to learn that due to my school's insurance plan, I could have my tooth fixed in a matter of weeks.

Step one was the consultation where they met with me and assessed my mouth. They made some initial guesses about what they could do and took a lot of pictures. After that, my next appointment was a few days later. I went in and received a root canal to get rid of all of the nerves in my tooth that were currently exposed do to the chip. I felt so much better leaving the office, because the pains from eating and breathing were now gone.

I was fitted for a crown and color matched at an office in the city, and after that was able to go in for a crown placement. They used a special type of glue adhesive to make sure that the crown was on stable and would not break off from things like chewing and movement.
It looks great, and I'm happy that there are dental offices in Calgary like DynamicDentalCalgary.com that made me feel at home during my entire experience and left me smiling as they promised.

I have bad credit, how will I ever get a loan for a vehicle?

Hey everyone! I am someone that, like a lot of people, let my credit get out of my hands, and now my credit situation is not the best it could be. This wouldn't normally be a huge problem, because I'm young and will eventually get my credit back into a healthy spot, but I've recently come into an issue with my credit and needed some help getting a loan for a vehicle.

Because I'm a first time car buyer and looking to get something dependable, affordable, and safe, I've turned to one of the best Edmonton bad credit car loans dealerships: Mac James Motors. They've been around since 1994, and I even remember listening to their radio jingle while I was on my way to school as a kid.

I knew the moment I wanted to purchase a vehicle that I was going to run into frustrations; it's bad enough having no credit and being young, but I felt as though it was a lot worse to have poor credit. I was mostly concerned with the length of time it would take in order to be approved, but was pleasantly surprised to know that Mac James' approval time is within a couple of hours, which meant that I could potentially be approved, buy the car, and then drive it away all within the same day.

Another bonus to the short approval time was the length of their financing: most companies offer extremely long payment times, upwards of 80+ months to pay back loans. But with Mac James, they're a company that specializes in short-term financing (as low as 34 months), meaning that I'd be able to pay back my loans in full each month in shorter time, which would have the best affect on my credit rating - this means I would not only be paying down my car quicker, but I'd be rebuilding my damaged credit at the same time.

After MacJames.ca helped me get through the hurdles and headaches of getting approved, the only major concern I was left with was deciding which type of car and color I wanted. I knew that I'd be okay in that department though, because their dealership had over 100 different vehicles to be purchased of all makes and models.
